Project Main Details
Our company is an audio book production and recording company. We record many audio books for authors and publishers all over the world.
We are always looking for talented people who can deliver pro quality recordings of audio books.
If you do not fit what we are looking for on this project but would like to be considered for others please contact us.
This project is for an audio book about addiction. It is rather interesting because it reads a bit like a play with narration.
The publisher would like to have a voice with a British sound to it. We will accept auditions from both males and females.
The length of the book is 109 pages and about 23,000 words. It will be sent to the narrator in MS Word format. The final recording will need to be sent to us in wave format on audio CD.
Pay for this audio book recording will be $250.00 and you will be listed on the cover as the narrator.
If you would like to be considered for this project please record the included script and send it to us in MP3 format.
We will accept auditions until 06/20/06. Recording would need to be finished no later than July 15, 2006. The narrator will be paid upon completion.
Please note that we produce retail quality audio books that are sold at major retail and online outlets. Our standards are very high. If you do not have the proper equipment to deliver this type of audio please do not submit an audition.
However, we do not dismiss auditions simply because you do not have alot of credits. If you are just starting out but feel you can deliver the quality of audio we are looking for, please submit.
Thank you,

A maiden on her way to market is stopped along
the road by Addiction.
"Oh Maiden, he calls out to her politely,
"I am told by the gods in the Garden of Pleasures
that you have no vices. What?! No one to champion your good times?!
"I am Addiction and I would be flattered to call
you my own, he says, adding, I would make your
life a thing of boundless joy, more wonderful than
anything you can ever imagine!
The unusual stranger has caught the approving eye of the maiden, who rather fancies his handsome costume of silk paper, glistening and white and smartly tied off at the ankle by a dashing beige filter.
"And what would be my investment?" the maiden
asks politely.
"Oh, that," responds Addiction, replying casually,
"Your health, your wealth, your inner peace, your
energy, your self-confidence, your courage, your
self-respect, your dignity, your happiness and
your freedom.
"Oh my, and my gain?" she asks.
"Umm that? Oh, death, sickness, frustration,
anxiety, palpitations, cancer, emphysema, heart
disease and any others I can give you," he says.
"Are you mad?" quips the maiden. "Besides, you
are legal. Does it not therefore follow that in
joining you your followers should be able entrust
you with their well-being?" she asks.
"Ah, alas, that is not in the bargain, my lovely
lass. You see, I am legal but I am lethal as
well," he clarifies.
And those who join your following, they understand this and commit to you anyway? she asks.
By the millions, fair maiden, by the millions,
he smiles proudly.
"Well, I must tell you sir that I have tired of your
nonsense, says the maiden abruptly.
"I find your responses preposterous...no, repulsive. Only your clothing is more ridiculous," she jabs for good measure, and without another word she turns and continues down the path, topping a grassy hill and disappearing into the distance.
Surely, she believes, only her imagination can
have played such a trick upon her as this.
She suddenly understands. Were all of addiction's
departed victims to have learned about his intentions before joining him, as she has taken the time to do today, he could never have claimed even the first soul among their naive millions he has sent to an early grave.
