We are looking for an older gentleman with what sounds like a south Texas German accent. This recording will be used as a pilot for a possible museum exhibit. This voiceover is supposed to be the voice of Chester Nimitz's father telling a "tall tail"... Please provide a sample of the recording and your rate to record and post an MP3 of the narration. Here is the copy....
"We had a local shooting last summer that produced an inidentified corpse. Examination of the dead man’s effects revealed that the defunct had a wife in New York. I sent her a telegram asking what disposition to make of the body, she wired back, that she would come herself to identify the remains.
It was August and I had no means of preserving the corpse by refrigeration. So, I did the best he could. I hung the body in the smokehouse along with the sausages. The trains from New York being slow and the connections poor, it took the wife quite a while to reach Fredericksburg. By that time, of course, her husband was well smoked. Shown the body, she protested that this could not be her husband: her husband was a white man. So I explained to her that unless she recognized her husband, she couldn’t collect any insurance money. Whereupon, she recognized him and took him home."
