Texas A&M football coach Dennis Franchione said there would be no overtime. Richie Bean made sure it was a moot point.
Bean nailed a 39-yard field goal through the swirling wind with 6 seconds left to give the White team a 27-24 victory on Saturday in the annual Maroon & White Game at Kyle Field.
"That would have been enough today," said Franchione, who served as the color commentator on the radio broadcast. "From my standpoint, when you get down to the last 4 or 5 minutes of game, you hope to see a competitive ending but also get off the field as healthy as you can. I think we did that."
