Communication. Interaction. Understanding. At the Canadian Centre of Arts and Technology we explore the relationships between arts and digital technologies. We strive for understanding in the ways we communicate and interact in our increasingly digital world. From the impact of multimedia in a learning environment to the streaming of live theatre from multiple locations, our research opens the doors to broader knowledge of the dynamic interface between human and technology-based communication.
As a collaborative research centre based at the University of Waterloo, our researchers work together to explore, expand and refine the uses of creative, interactive and digital technologies. CCAT’s open communication and complementary projects allow for an environment of discovery that only Canada’s innovative university can provide. Interdisciplinary research across faculties and with international universities paves the way for a broad view of how technology is used and its effects on our society.
