Narrative
Welcome to the Overview for Property Movement
As you have learned, careful management of both corporate property and customer property is key to strong customer relationships, corporate growth, and successful government audits.
This video describes the steps involved in correctly reporting and moving assets.
There are several aspects related to moving all corporate and customer property.
• First, employees must accept accountability for property movement.
• Employees must report any movement of property to Property Management.
• And finally, employees deliver or relocate the property after checking for labels on each item.
Let’s talk first about accountability.
• If you move an asset, you become accountable for that asset.
• As a company, we must also demonstrate accountability to our customers.
• Throughout the year, our government customers conduct audits to confirm the quantity and location of assets being used by Raytheon.
Now let’s take a look at how we report movement here at Raytheon.
There are four tools for tracking and reporting movement:
• The on-line Electronic Movement Form,
• E-mail notification,
• The Property Accountability Document - PAD
• And the Record Change Request Form
It is crucial that we report all property relocations regardless of the amount of time the asset will reside in the new location.
Finally, when delivering or relocating the asset, keep these points in mind:
• Does this asset have a unique label identifying the asset and the owner?
o If an item is not correctly labeled, contact Property Management first.
• Have you followed the movement policy and procedures?
• And, what type of movement documentation is required to report the relocation?
Please call, e-mail or visit the Property Management website for help and current information, if you have any questions.
Remember, asset management directly impacts our customer relationships, corporate growth, and government audits.
