Project Parameters
Script Details
More development occurs during the first five years than at any other stage of life. We believe that a balance of physical, social, emotional, and intellectual stimulation is essential for this development.
Our curriculum, based on developmentally appropriate practices, allows each child to proceed as he or she is ready to foster confidence and self esteem. And low teacher to child ratios assure that all children enjoy individual attention.
There are multiple facets of our curriculum:
• The Ready to Read Program – develops early literacy through conversation and storybooks.
• Mathematical and scientific thinking – is encouraged by using number and quantity, and inviting children to explore the world around them.
• Personal and social development – children develop self concept and self control by interacting and solving problems together.
• Early Intervention Program – a consulting child psychologist evaluates children for developmental delays or other special needs and develops an action plan with the family and teacher.
• Physical development – includes large and small motor development.
• Arts – children express their creativity through art, music and dramatic play.
The day is a blend of child and teacher initiated activities, including group time, outdoor play, rest, and nutritious meals and snacks.
