Voice over: Students at the University of Texas at Arlington are doing more than learning theory. Under the guidance of our professors, they’re working on our country’s major problems and making a difference NOW.
James Creel: I’m James Creel. Professor Ali Koymen and I have installed powerful magnets on test cars. We’re looking to squeeze more miles out of every gallon of gas. I’m a Maverick.
Rosie Whitten: My name is Rosie Whitten. Along with Dr. Carl Lovely and graduate assistant Lesley Schmid, I’m researching new drugs that could help cure tuberculosis patients. I’m a Maverick.
Frank Mosely: Frank Mosely here—actor, writer, producer, director, and UTA senior. With professor Bart Weiss' help, my films have won awards at festivals. I couldn't have done it if I wasn’t a Maverick.
Voice over: UTA students are different from most. Sometimes brilliant. Always passionate and curious. They ponder the questions as much as they do the answers. And they know they can make a difference. Not after they graduate, but right now, while still in school. That’s why we call them Mavericks. At the University of Texas at Arlington, we provide real-world education with active learning opportunities. So students make contributions today. Just like...
