Today, the Ruger Mark I and its successors, the Mark II and Mark III pistols, are among the most successful rimfire handguns ever made. Millions of these pistols, in their various configurations, have been produced. They are used for plinking, small game hunting, competition and training.

With proper care and maintenance, your Ruger pistol should provide many years of safe and reliable service. Disassembling your pistol provides the best way to clean it thoroughly and check it for wear.

This presentation will help you disassemble and reassemble Ruger Mark II and Mark III pistols. While the Mark II and Mark III are similar in design and function, there are slight differences in the disassembly and reassembly procedures. Specifically, Mark II pistols can be disassembled and reassembled without using a magazine, whereas you will need to use an empty magazine with Mark IIIs.
