Project Main Details
Boston-area speech recognition company is seeking a British-English voice talent. The job involves recording about 5-10 hours worth of material that will be used to build our text-to-speech (TTS) engine.
Requirements include:
* female speaker
* sonorous, non-breathy voice
* pitch is naturally somewhat low for a female voice
* can consistently speak with an accent identified with southern England
* takes direction well
* can observe and modify details of own pronunciation
Previous experience in voice recording work is preferred. Musical training, especially in voice, is also desirable.
Voice samples in .wav format can be forwarded along with an application letter and resume. Prospective candidates will be called in for a test
recording.
Time frame: 30-min initial test recording + 5-10 hours of actual recording (possibly divided between two recording sessions).
Approximate time of recording: late-January to early-February 2006
