Pacing: quick- the whole intro in 90 seconds or less would be great
Welcome to Liberty Mutual’s “Safety Squares” !
Featuring Liberty Mutual safety experts, a cast of characters in our various community events and educational programs. Before we start the game, let’s get to know them!
First up is the Liberty Lion from Liberty Mutual’s new publication for kids… Liberty Kids! With activities like mazes and puzzles, he makes safety lessons fun!
Next is Professor Dave! In real life, Dave Melton is the Director of Transportation at the Liberty Mutual Research Center for Safety in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. His three decades of safety expertise is evident in the many programs—like “Decision Driving”—he creates and instructs for employees and customers around the world.
Where there’s smoke, there’s a firefighter. Firefighter Joe is the star of our “Firefighters Are My Friends” coloring book story, which teaches children not to be afraid and hide from firefighters who come to rescue them from a fire.
Next up is the Safety Ape. He goes to Liberty Mutual’s community events, such as the Bike Rodeo and Child Identification Fairs, to show kids that learning about safety can be more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
Everyone knows her, everyone loves her… it’s Lady Liberty! She’s been representing Liberty Mutual in our logo since 1921.
Rizo the Hedgehog has traveled all the way from Spain to be here with us today. Rizo—short for erizo, which means “hedgehog” in Spanish—is the friendly mascot for the Liberty-owned Genesis (Hanasis) personal insurance company in Spain, who helps share the message of the importance of safety and good driving.
Then there’s Lua. She’s the little girl in the story whose house catches fire. Because it scares her so much, Firefighter Joe visits Lua’s school to teach the children not to be afraid of firefighters and how to escape safely.
Seated next to Lua is her Dad. Liberty Mutual created a fire safety teacher’s kit to educate kids about fire hazards in the house. But young children should never try to fix hazards themselves, so it’s up to the parents to make sure the house is safe.
And last but not least, Lua’s teacher, she asked Firefighter Joe to join her class one day during Fire Prevention Week in October so he could show her students what he looks like in his firefighting gear and teach them a lesson about fire safety.
Are you ready to play? Let’s get started…!
Voice: Game show host type… emphasizing the names of the “stars”. The names were bolded but may have lost this attribute.
