SPOT #2: “Tío tells it like it is.” Wise uncle counsels his renting nephew.
Setting: Large apartment building, with the property manager’s office in bottom level. (Same building as Spot #1?) A twenty-something young man speaks with his uncle inside the office. His successful fifty-something uncle owns the facility. Dialogue begins as we enter from the outside.
Young Man: (Young and simple) Here’s the rent, Tío.
Uncle: (Warm and wise) Thanks, son. But aren’t you tired of paying money for a place that I own?
Young Man: I know, Tío, but guys like me can’t own homes.
Uncle: You’ve got a steady job, and your kids need more room. It’s time to start investing in your future.
Young Man: I know, Tío…but my credit is not that good.
