YesN/A Knee replacement surgery is very effective in relieving pain and restoring patients to their normal level of activity, however over time, components can wear out. This wear is one of the leading causes of failure in knee implants. Because of this, as few as 10 years ago, patients were discouraged from early surgical intervention to relieve their osteoarthritic, painful knees, often delaying surgery until they were older. But today, with improvements in materials, designs, and surgical techniques, patients need not suffer years before seeking help. The RP knee is proven to reduce wear by 94% over other knee implants. The historical longevity of RP implants is supported with published clinical data, which now suggests a greater than 97% survivership after 20 years. All this makes it possible for doctors to improve the quality of their patients’ lives.
