Commercial is all about feeling GOOD, so need to hear a laugh in the voice.
Able to talk fast without sounding salesy.
Client does NOT want a southern accent, but it shouldn't be New England or stuffy, either. More midwestern. No twang.
Keep the slow and easy beat of the Curtis Mayfield tune ("It's Alright") in mind for attitude (not pace).
