This is for my Senior Project for my 3D Animated Short. It is sort of a satire of a Televangalist, or a faith healing preacher. I am sure you have seen them on late night television, faith healing the sick.
I am looking for a very animated voice with lots of character and soul. I am looking for a Voice Actor for the televangalist or televison preacher. I am thinking somewhat of a southern accent, but I will trust your judgement. Here is Fathers (you) script and afterword I have full script, you are Father.
The final recording would be animated to in a 3D rendering Animation, it would most likley be broadcast in film festivals. The total length is going to be about 2 minutes, the actor will have about 1 and a half minutes of work. The script below is complete, I attached two versions of it, one with just the lines I need, first, then the whole complete script. Scene 1
[Screen Starts Black]
[From black, stars fad in]
[White lines connect the stars to spell the title, “Faith”]
[Small meteor flies past bottom left of screen]
[CUT]
[Stars already in place, in space again]
[White lines connect the stars to spell, “By Alex George”]
[Meteor comes from off screen left and camera follows in while being stationary, you can see its headed toward Earth or Earth like planet]
[CUT]
[Few stars, no significance anymore]
[Meteor comes in from left side and toward camera]
[Meteor eclipses camera]
[During Eclipse to black, TV snow fades in]
[TV snow turns to begging of next scene]
Scene 2
[This starts out before the show that’s about to begin, his faith healing show]
[Televangelist coughs, while straitening out his outfit]
[Looks in camera and uses it as a mirror]
[Smiles real big into camera to check teeth]
[Cleans teeth with finger in camera]
[Cleans eyebrows with fingers from spit from his tongue. First left, re-wetting, then right]
Camera Lady [From off screen]: “Your on in 10 father’
[Hand reaches in and gives him a microphone]
[Father reaches for it and takes it while still looking at his reflection in camera flipping his hair]
[Father does a little shake about all over to loosen up, and closes his eyes looking like he’s concentrating]
[Hand comes in from right side of screen and visually counts down from 5 to 1]
Camera Lady [From off screen]: (Counts down with fingers, but stops at 3)
[At the strike of One, Screen Layover pops up with number to donate and other info]
(Extreme Emergency Pledge Number)
[Father pops up with a welcoming grin]
[Corny Pipe organ starts playing]
Father: “Good Evening divine children of the lord”
[Father stops in his words and tenses up in himself]
[Pause]
[Relaxes Pose but still a little tense]
Father: “Oh, The Lord is so good!”
[Father looks like her just did a bunch of muscle relaxants and/or painkillers as he relaxes fully]
Father: “The lords here children, can you feel him?”
[Cuts to audience, which is very sparse, only 2 old ladies in back and one or two others]
[No response from Audience except one old lady in back (Margareet) flailing her arms, (Ethel) Covers her face with a paper of some sort]
[Cuts back to Father]
Father: “I can” (Nodding his head)
[Cuts to audience]
[No response from Audience, No change but (Ethel) is trying to calm down (Margareet)]
[Cuts back to Father]
Father: “I can” (Nodding his head)
[Cuts to audience, all is calm]
[Cuts back to Father]
[Father looking down and behind him at a note card in his other hand]
[Quickly crushes paper in hand, and puts hand up to forehead to act like gods giving him information]
Father: “Im looking at you right now…Hello?…Ethel, Hello?”
[Father points to audience]
Father: “He wants me to cleanse those eyes”
Scene 3
[Camera cuts to Ethel and Margareet in Audience]
[Old lady on left, Ethel, Old Lady on Right, Margareet]
Father: “Im coming Ethel, just like Jesus came in Gods name, Im coming in God and Jesus name, amen!”
[Ethale acting very resistant, like “please I really don’t want to”, and Margareet pushing her along urging her too]
[Camera backs out to see that Father has already come to them]
Father: “Now am I talking to the right woman?”
[Doesn’t wait for a response as Ethel shakes head]
Father: “Praise Jesus”
[Margareet helps her up and pushes her along to Father, Father pulls her to aisle]
[Cuts to aisle shot of Father and Ethel]
[Father raises hand, lowers his head and closes his eyes]
Father: “Raise your hand, say Hallelujah”
[Ethel acting weirded out but slowly raises her hand acting cautiously]
Father: “Say Hallelujah, Say Hallelujah..”
[Ethel looks back at Margareet with a face ‘what’, lowers hand a little bit]
[Father slaps off her glasses]
Father: ‘Praise God, Hallelujah!”
[Pipe Organ begins to play ‘I can see clearly now’]
[Ethel is in shock while Father looks like he’s still praying]
[Camera cuts closer to Ethels face]
Father: “How does the world look, free of satan?”
[Camera pans as Ethel looks over at Margareet]
[Ethel sees that Margareet is very happy so she puts on a fake smile for her]
[Camera starts going back toward Father with Ethels face]
Father: “And those devil chains!”
[Father rips off her Oxygen tubes from her chest]
[Ethel breathing heavily, leaning on her walker]
Father: “Breathe in the love of God.”
[Camera cuts to the back right corner of Fathers head so that you can still see Father]
[Father leans into Ethel, putting weight on walker]
Father: “How would you like to run free, in Gods field of Salvation?”
[Ethel shaking her head kindly no]
[Camera follows Fathers head as he moves it slightly to the side to see Margareet, nodding and clapping happily]
[Camera cuts back so you can see Father and Ethel]
[Father puts one hand clenching her walker, head down eyes closed]
Father: “God, take this childs hand,”
[Father rips the walker from under her and flings it in the air]
Father: ”and lead her to salvation!”
[Pause, Ethel clenching to a near by chair for dear life]
[Walker lands on audience member in backgrounds head]
[Father puts his arm around Ethel and walks her away from the chair with his eyes closed and head down]
Father: “Go on darlin’, Gods with you”
[He gives her a nudge and she falls flat on her face, Father still looking down with eyes closed]
[Camera cuts to her agonizing face]
Father: “Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus”
[Camera cuts back to Father who still has his had down and eyes closed]
[Slight whistling noise begins like a bomb dropping]
[Meteor flies in from left and hits him in head]
[A large plume of dust quickly fills the screen from bottom right]
[Credits roll on pieces of debris that’s falling slowly, ie. A pamphlet is slowly falling reads: “ Animation: Alex George”]
[Smoke gets denser and denser as time passes and fades to black]
