This is a Web Based Tutorial, the overall duration can be 6 plus hours, so the learner will listen to the same voice for a long stretch. Also, there are different interactions in the WBT, which require a slightly different treatment e.g.bulleted text, definitions, examples, questions, so voice ought to SEE the some samples, via internet or e-mail etc so he/she knows how to vary the pace, modulation accordingly. (For this you can go thru the Link provided above). The product is meant for an International audience - Europe, USA, Asia, Australia, Japan, China etc
Generic Guidelines:
Being a learning product, clear pronunciation, diction and a consistent pace are critical. Since the learner will be linked to the same voice for several hours, voice should have consistent energy, and wherever the text allows the voice should vary the pace and modulate. This will help in breaking the monotony, which sometimes is a risk in a learning product, which has long sentences, technical definitions etc. Last but not the least the voice should take care not to be very dramatic as there the audience is cross-cultural.
