Welcome to Holstein…BP’s SPAR located 150 miles south of New Orleans.
On Holstein as in any BP facility, we are committed to our core values . . . no accidents . . . no harm to people . . . no damage to the environment. These values are woven into everything we do.

Wide shot of facility
As we begin the HSE Offshore Orientation…
Let’s start with a little bit about the Holstein facility.
We are currently located in 4,300 feet of water in Green Canyon Block 645.
Holstein has simultaneous production and drilling operations.
Our complex drilling program is capable of drilling up to 25,000-foot depths.
And a reminder…because Holstein is a floating facility, movement can be expected at any time. So please use hand rails when moving around the facility.
GENERAL WORKING SHOTS
At BP, everyone is responsible for getting HSE right. The following rules and procedures are presented to BP employees and visitors and persons not routinely assigned to this platform. It is the responsibility of each person to know and follow these procedures.
CREW MEMBER BOARDING HELICOPTER OR BOAT
You’ll be taken to Holstein by helicopter or work boat. Before boarding, there will be a safety briefing. Please pay attention to the safety presentation. It could mean the difference between life and death.

Upon arrival at Holstein, sign in and review the arrival sheet and your station bill.
Review, initial and endorse the individual Holstein onboard Briefing Sheet.
You will need to fill out Emergency Notification and Medical information form.
You will also have to declare all cell phones, pagers and radios upon arrival. Permits are required for use of cameras and laptops.
You will need to participate in an offshore orientation.
And you should know your role in emergency response before proceeding from the orientation area.
It is important that you note the location of your muster station.
And become familiar with the Personnel on Board accountability system. Holstein’s Accountability System is a card-reader system that requires you to swipe tabs at both Muster and Abandon locations…in the event of a drill or an actual emergency.
