Script: Welcome to the Florida Department of Transportation’s training module on design exceptions and design variations. In this module we will cover some of the history of how the Department’s exception and variation processes came about and how to identify exceptions and variations. We will also discuss the coordination, justification and documentation required for each.
The main menu on the left side of the screen will remain throughout the presentation so you can quickly move to any topic you wish. Before watching our presentation, please download the course exercises. This is done by clicking on the “Class Materials” button in the main menu. Next, please take a moment to go through the pretest. This will give you an idea of the content we will be discussing and test your familiarity with the material.
