First of all, you realize this is a world-class facility. Imagine a renovated 6,000-square-foot Mexican villa surrounded by 28 acres of picturesque countryside. More than enough room for swimming, soccer, volleyball, basketball, reflecting, teaching, and eating…all at the same time!
And when you consider the spacious pavilions, kitchens, dorms, and chapel, you understand how we can accommodate several hundred guests at once. There’s no shortage of space and you never run out of things to do.
But there’s still something else…it’s the people who have come here! You sense their energy…the exuberance of all ages having fun, gaining confidence, and making friends. And you also sense their spiritual growth. There’s faith in their eyes and hope in their hearts.
So welcome to The Highlands Mexico…the ultimate camping and conference experience for kids, teens, men, women, whole families, church groups, civic organizations…anyone and everyone who needs a place where they can refresh and recharge!
NARRATOR: Located just 90 minutes south of Mexico City, The Highlands Mexico is one of 10 similar sites around the globe. Each camp is sponsored by The Rawlings Foundation of Florence, Kentucky. The Rawlings Foundation is an independent, nonprofit ministry that’s committed to 21st century missions and the fulfillment of The Great Commission.
Initially, the Foundation helped to establish churches around the world. But a few years ago, it sensed God leading in a different avenue, specifically, camps and conference facilities where families and groups can come to grow and experience life in Christ.
Today there are camps in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America equipping themselves to minister to the many needs of believers.
For instance, all too frequently Mexican pastors lack the staff or resources to adequately meet the spiritual challenges of their churches. Our staff is carefully selected and trained so that each day’s agenda is perfectly balanced between fun activities, free time, and worship services.
ED HOAGLAND (Missionary to Mexico): We are so thankful for this camp. We are so thankful to The Rawlings Foundation and what they have done here. For 18 years we have been praying that God would give us a place like this where we could have our youth camps, kids camps, couples retreats, and pastor retreats. Not only has it been a blessing to our people here in Mexico, but I believe it would be a blessing to churches in the United States. It has first class facilities, it is a beautiful setting, I think it is just a fantastic place for anyone to come and visit.

Children are in a secure environment where they learn about acceptance, encouragement, teamwork, and, of course, God.
