Hey guys,
I'm finishing up a 35 mill spec commercial for FIGHT NIGHT, a boxing game for X-Box. I'm looking for that NFL films voice, super deep, almost jokey in the way that words are overpronounced. Lots of references to animals (in relationship to the athlete being described) Words like.."With the strength of the mightly lion, and the quickness of a gazell he circles his prey....with the scent of triumph in his nostrils and victory dripping from his jowells."
The catch is it's a comedy spec. We see this shadow boxer, and to us he looks like a champion boxer, only to reveal that he's a skinny dweeb who doesn't belong anywhere near a boxing ring. That's when we describe him with all the animal references and show him doing his best to look ferocious.
Anyway, I'd love to hear a demo from you. Here's the voice over: Oh, and try to fit it into 45 seconds if you can. That's the length of the commercial, and you'll have to say it pretty fast to get through it.
Here it is: (I put spaces where there should be slight pauses and capitolized words that should be emphasised) Remember, it's a comedy, so overpronounce the animal words and all that.

(Now we can see him)
"Their arms chiseled from granite, their fists forged from steel, they strike fear into the heart of even the most menacing foe....

Do you have what it takes to be a champion? (pause, the dude gets flattened) Or do you need more practice?"
