Project Main Details

2 Mini How to videos
Two short "how to" films for a rural electric utility in Alaska. Film #1 teaches our viewers how to support green power with a monthly contribution on their bills. It's a quirky script in which a young man decides between a super-stuffed burrito and saving the planet. Film #2 is a straightforward instructional that teaches people how to use a "Smart Strip" energy-saving power strip that shuts down unused appliances.

Script Details

Sample script provided for auditions:

Film #1: This is a five-dollar bill. It belongs to Stan. Stan is a member of ****, just like you.
Stan is thinking of all the things he can do with his five-dollar bill.
He can blow it on one of those overpriced coffee drinks.
He can trade it for a super-stuffed burrito.
Or he can do something good for the planet.

After much thought, Stan decides the planet is more important than a mondo burrito. He logs onto ******** and signs up for the ************. The minimum contribution is two dollars a month, but Stan is feeling generous. He sets it at five.

Film #2: Think about all the electronic gadgets you have plugged in around your home and office.
Even when they’re not in use, they’re still drawing a little bit of power. These are called phantom loads. And who pays for that wasted power? You do — every month.

You can cut phantom loads by using a smart strip. A smart strip cuts the flow of power to certain electronics when they’re not in use. Here’s how it works.
