Project Main Details
I am a self-publisher getting a book off the ground. I would like to offer it in CD audio form (in addition to print form).
I am seeking a female voice talent with a neutral American accent. The material is humorous, but I would want the reading to err on the side of dry rather than giggly or winky-wink.
The material is somewhat controversial and edgy -- it deals with divorce issues and focuses on the male perspective -- but is certainly not of an adult nature. The voice would need to be no-B.S. but compassionate, like the author. This would, of course, be a work-for-hire. Given my budget (modest) I would need to work with a non-union talent.
The book itself is 8.5 X 5.5 and features about 130 pages of reading in single-space times 11 point font. It comes to about 32,000 words. It is a very quick and fun read, and probably much easier to get through than any number of other books of a less breezy nature.
I have NO idea whatsoever what this project would cost, and, indeed, I may determine that an audio version would be prohibitively expensive at this time. That said, there is a strong possibility that this book will do quite well (due to the endorsement of a VERY famous radio personality) and provide good exposure for the voice talent.
Needless to say, the talent would need access to a recording studio and professional equipment, and recording fees must be included in the bid. Many thanks!
