Several short animated videos explaining the covenant theology of 17th century particular baptists. ***************************** This is a passion, non-profit project.

Delivery: educated, competent, but explaining the theology to your wife on the couch in the late evening after dinner, with warm tea and dim lights. You really want her to understand, because it's important, but you're also just happy to be relaxing with her having a conversation. You're not a teacher in a classroom. You're not an expert on TV. You're not a narrator.

Your marriage. The Treaty of Versailles. A Homeowner’s Association. A Loan. The American Airlines / U.S. Airways Merger. An Employment Contract.

These are all covenants. A covenant is a binding agreement. We’re more used to the term “contract”, but they mean the same thing. Sometimes the parties are equal, sometimes they’re not.

The bible contains many examples of covenants between men. Judas covenanted with the chief priests to betray Christ. David made a covenant with Jonathan. Asa, King of Judah, made a war covenant with the king of Syria. Abraham and Abimelech made a covenant treaty. Jacob made a covenant with Laban. Job made a covenant with his eyes.

The bible also talks about covenants that God made with men. These are called “divine covenants” and they are always made between unequal parties because God is sovereign and He sets the terms. There are two kinds of divine covenants: in one, the reward is earned by man; in the other, the reward is given freely and received by man. The stipulations are determined by each covenant.

So if a divine covenant is a binding agreement between God and men, what is covenant theology?

Covenant theology is a way of understanding all of redemptive history as an expression of God’s singular purpose to save His people through the covenant of grace.
