I'm looking for a hip youthul (in spirit, not necessarily in age), male voice that will eventually become the "brand" voice of a new direct-to-video animated series, based on a collection of best-selling kids books. I don't need big, boomy voices, but I do like nice voice tone. The ability to take vocal direction is important as well.
I have two scripts, the talent can do either or both. The read should definitely be upbeat, fun and with a sense of humor. Talent should NOT take themselves too seriously. The read should be like a cool, older brother to a junior high kid. It also has to appeal to moms. For example, I liked Alan Schwartz's read from an earlier voice123 request.
The talent who is chosen should have a phone patch to take direction during the final read. I need delivery as either high-quality mp3, or, better yet, as AIFF 16bit, 48K files either emailed to me or ftp'd. The script is for a trailer that will be played on the client's website and on the other DVDs in the series (they've already produced the first three.) If the trailers are re-cut for broadcast in the future, another contract will be drawn up for that.
