Project Main Details
This is a six minute animated film to be shown at a charity event for the 125th Anniversary Celebration of Golf in America.
The charity event benefits The First Tee of Metropolitan New York and the Folds of Honor Foundation.
Looking for 2 rolls. Please approach the characters with a bit of an over-the-top, caricature nature. Think in the realm of the Guinness "Brilliant" commercials.
Angus Macintyre: at 133, he is the oldest living caddie in the world.
He has caddied for all the great players and like all Scottish caddies, has lots of irreverent stories to tell in a crusty old voice. He has a definite Scottish accent, but since he grew up in America, it’s an accent you can easily understand even though he is from the lower classes.
John Reid: The founder of St. Andrews Golf Club of Yonkers in 1888. While he was born in Dunfirmline, Scotland, he has lived in America most of his life but his accent is not as thick as Angus’. He is a prominent business man with aristocratic overtones. 2013-04-10 13:00:12 GMT 2013-04-17 17:00:00 (GMT -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) Yes (click here to learn more about ) Closed 0 0 0 direct invitation(s) have been sent by the voice seeker resulting in 0 audition(s) and/or proposal(s) so far. Knees’re killin’ me, took enough Advil this mornin’ for a pro football team. But that’s what happens when you been loopin’ since you were a wee lad.
My very first loop was for Mr. John Reid, the day he founded St. Andrew’s Golf Club back in ’88. Here we are on Shott’s farm – that’s Mr. Reid on the right. Third from the left… is yours truly (caddie waves).
By 1892 things were really moving.
John and the boys outgrew their original track and built a new course – 6 holes in an apple orchard. Talk about obstacles.
I caddied for Judge O’Brien the next year at the new Shinnecock course and he said to me –“ this is no golf course – there are no apple trees to hit over”.
JOHN REID THE FOUNDER OF ST. ANDREWS IN YONKERS:
But the members of St. Andrew’s, being a compassionate lot, petitioned for a public golf course in the new Van Courtland Park.
In 1897, thanks to a generous donation by one of our more zealous members, Andrew Carnegie, we finally built a full 18 holes at Mt. Hope.
At the suggestion of our greens committee, all 26 clubs
met at Delmonicos and formed the Metropolitan Golf Association.
Apart from great steak, they had a bar with 24 different single malts. I’ve sampled every one of ‘em.
