Voice Description

Raised in Long Island NY and having Spanish spoken at home I learned to be Fluent with no accent (only voluntarily) for both Spanish/English. Spanish is my native language.
My voice can be warm/professional-for narration. It can be sexy/warm/perky for commercials. It can be sexy, yet professional/corporate for greetings voicemail & clear/energetic/fast paced for children related v/o.
I speak English/Spanish with neutral/professional sounding voice. I can put on a Colombian accent voluntarily when speaking spanish.

My Voice Experience

My career began in Spanish Radio in Colombia. I worked for a Spanish Station in Long Island, NY. and recorded (commercials only) for MEGA-FM in NYC.
This year I booked a commercial for Mercy College on radio/tv in Spanish for the TriState area. I was told by the producers who chose me that I was selected among 500 voices they had heard. I've recorded PSA for the NYS Dept. of Health & Human Services, also in Spanish. My voice can be heard on the internet, For this past October 05 Breast Cancer Awareness Month on "Think Before You Pink". It's a cartoon v/o where I speak English with a Spanish accent.

My Training

I learned to be a voice over artist through my experience working at the radio stations and getting voice over training at "The Actors Connection in Manhattan, NY and I also attend voiceovers auditions from casting directors in NY who have heard my demo and send me on voice acting audition for v/o in both Spanish/English. I've studied narration to prepare to do Audiobooks in both languages and I'm presently taking Improvisation classes with (Kim Schultz)in NY & Acting with Roger Hendricks Simon who has Directed/Coached for 28 years for theatre/film and radio. In addition I have studied Acting at the Stella Adler Acting Studios.

Additional Skills

I won firt prize twice for prepared speeches (in English back in High School for BOCES Vocational/ Tech training program at age 17, for both Local BOCES and Long Island NY competitions.
I have learned a lot about the business of v/o's and "The Art of Voice Overs". I know it goes beyond having a pretty voice. I've learned that the key ingredient is "getting into character" because v/o is actually "Acting With the Voice"
(In acting classes I'm able to put on accents in English such as: Southern & New York. Age range of voice could be 25-30 or 40-45 mother sounding v/o or medical professional v/o.
