Voice Description
International accent, mostly mistaken for British. I sing, so my voice can be strongly projected. It is soothing and fluent. Medium pitch, but I can make it sound higher (when doing the blonde/valley girl accent) or deeper, when trying to sound manly.
Energetic and vivaciuos for commercials, refined and articulate for presentations, captivating and involved for narrations, operatic and passionate for arias.
I speak English, Swahili and some Seychelloise Creole (broken French). English is my first language, however being born in Tanzania makes Swahili my Native language and Creole my mother-tongue. I usually tell people that Swahili is my second language. Confusing, I know.
When speaking English, I can do American accents, but I am better with the British and South African accent. I can also do various African accents (depending on where in Africa) and a very strong Indian (Asian) accent, French accents, Scandinavian. Since I've travelled so much, it comes very easily for me. I can even speak swahili with an Indian or French accent.
If I were to compare my voice with a celebrity, I would say I sound like Mariah Carey, but people tell me that my voice is powerful and unique. My singing voice is Mezzo Soprano.
I can imitate monkey sounds quite well and cats too.

My Voice Experience
I narrated a video for the Shanghai U.S. consulate Marine Detachment. This video is is kept on file as the MSG Battalion Headquarters in Quantico, VA for Marines to view before reporting to post.
I've been singing for the past ten years - mostly in Church. I haven't had any narration jobs, but I would very much like to start.
My Training
My Major was in Communications, so I've had classes like: Voice & Diction, Persuasion, Introduction to Mass Media, Interviewing Studies, Interpersonal an Intercultural communication etc. I also took various Voice lessons that helped me with using proper breathing technics, voice projection and articulation. This was at Palm Beach Atlantic University from 1996 to 2000.
