Voice Description
When is a narrator not just a voice?
When that voice represents you.
You want professionalism, warmth, sincerity.
A real person talking to your audience, not at them.
I don't have a commercial sound, I admit that.
Fine with me. And I could be the right sound as the voice of your project. Give a listen.

My Voice Experience
Broadcast and Internet radio, voice-overs, books-on-tape, audio tours, internet audio and video...
I've done them all and continue to do most of them.
--My voice work began as a reporter for National Public Radio, voicing my own news stories, features, and documentaries.
--I've also narrated books-on-tape for Simon & Schuster and Prentice-Hall. And I've done voiceovers for documentaries, PSAs, corporate and educational video.
--While a producer of the live radio program, New York Kids on WNYC in New York, I played a variety of fun and offbeat characters in dramatic scenes, from an oxygen molecule to a Mel Brooks-like old man reincarnated as a cat!
--In my best sincere, warm, and friendly voice I voice audio tours for art and history museums, including current tours at the New York Historical Society.
--I can also write audio tours and specialize in language that's free of jargon and is friendly to the listening ear.

My Training
I have taught media production and voice work to students from grade school to graduate school, especially as a senior adjunct professor in the Media Studies Program at the New School University in New York.
My Studio Equipment
I have a production studio in my building and can record, edit, and mix audio and video production.
For audio, I use a Shure SM7 mic and Pro Tools software on a Mac.
I can also do field recording for interviews or sound effects and ambience if called on.
Additional Skills
I'm flexible and can fit many formats, both commercial and non-commercial. I enjoy working for non-profits and on educational projects. My goals in life are simple: do good, avoid evil, and use media creatively to help others when I can.
Getting paid is nice too.
I have radio experience as a reporter for NPR, a host of an internet radio program for teachers on Scholastic.com, and the producer of kids radio for broadcast and internet.
I've also taught and worked with teachers for years so I have a understand the needs of educators and educational projects.
