My Voice Experience

I have done numerous messages for voicemail systems, have given many speeches (rated by Toastmasters as an excellent speaker-invited to join the group) and can meet any requirements you may have!

My Training

I have both attended and presented public speaking courses while in the Jaycee Women's organization. In addition, I was concurrently Speak-Up chair for Michigan and the United States Jaycee Women. I also placed 1st runner-up in a statewide competition in Michigan. As part of my duties while serving as Jaycee Women's Speak-Up program Chair, I organized and ran a nationwide competition. In this capacity, I was also required to give a lengthy speech at the national luncheon held for the Jaycee Women. I received an Award of Honor from the national Jaycee Women’s President for my work in encouraging and expanding the knowledge and participation of both men and women in the Speak-Up program.

Early on, I enjoyed speaking and reading to others. As I was growing up and attending Bible school and Sunday school, I was often chosen for roles in pageants and monologues. Then, at 18, I was a contestant in the local Miss America pageant. My talent was a 15-minute monologue that was humorous and interesting. I provided background sound effects and music. I won my local pageant and went on to compete in the county.

In the past, I also have given what I call “readings” at churches and community centers. A couple examples of these readings are: The Crucifixion, Mr. Nobody, Stopping By the Woods At Night, How Do I Love Thee…

I have a clear, crisp and strong voice that lends itself to great expression and depth. My enthusiasm is definitely an asset in presenting any voice over materials.

Additional Skills

I have a large amount of experience in the business world and medical field. I have served as an executive administrative assistant for banking institutions, a hospital and numerous other businesses where I was required to present information to employees and/or the public not only on a one-to-one basis but in large groups as well.

In the medical arena, I am an experienced medical transcriptionist; which means that medical terminology (including drugs) are not foreign to me.
