My Voice Experience

I have used my voice to present radio news and information as an on-air reporter for National Public Radio in Chicago, therefore the sound of my voice is credible and I speak with authority when delivering these types presentations. As a result, I would be excellent for documentaries and news and information types of projects.

I have also used to my voice to conduct training. Since training participants with whom I work, need to trust the presenter and information I am presenting, I have to speak with confidence and authority in these situations as well. I would do great in a role as a trainer on audio or in person for any type of project involving training.

I also currently work for West Corporation, the leading provider of voice-related services in the US. Here, I use my voice to read scripted material which is used to sell all types of products from Fortune 1000 companies worldwide. Many of my customers trust me so they buy more products as a result. I have a pleasant, conversational voice and personality, which naturally attracts customers and so they buy more of the product I am selling.

I also believe strong voice talent is backed up by a great personality and ones personality comes across in delivery. With my voice and personaility, my volume of sales for my client increases automatically.

I speak clearly, convicingly, portray a personalality of trustworthiness which comes across in my voice and I am enthusiatic about my projects. I have also been involved with local theatre, so I am able to go "into character," in different situations and I can sound younger than I actually am, if required.

My voice has the power to sale anything and I haved used my experience and educational background, which is a degree in Mass Communications to do just that! Fiinally, I also completed law school and was taught how to persuade juries to "sale" or convince jurors on the innocence or guilt of a client. I believe law school has taught me to be persuasive in this regard as well.

My Training

As mentioned in the Experience area above, I graduated from Bradley University with a degree in Mass Communications. This training taught me the fundamentals of using proper grammar, inflection, speaking clearly and how to present information to audiences for television and radio purposes. After over 10 years of working in the field of Journalism which included presenting information on the air or writing about it, I decided to return to school to study law. Law school was a great way to hone in on my writing skills and persuasive skills in terms of convincing and speaking to juries. The bottomline line in court cases is to convince a jury why they should agree with the lawyer reprsenting that client. A lawyer
must know how to "feel" a jury out and know what and how to present information in ordert o "win" them over. This is essential. Therefore, law school taught me how to better persuade the public to go and "do somrthing" to act in a way which is in the best interest of a client.

My experience in training employees in the field of Human Resources has also helped with my presentation skills. Since I have worked in Human Resources Management, I have often used my voice to conduct training.

In this regard, I have to be confident, accurate, trustworthy, convincing and persuasive all at the same time, in order to do this job well.

All of my training, whether is has been in Communications, Law or Human Resources, has developed my presentation skills. As I speak, help others to envision what I am saying by using metaphors, speaking with enthusiam, creating a vision and by using my personality to help get information across, the more successful I am.

Additional Skills

I am a professional, both in practice and in theory. I believe that various cleints have many different goals: which may be to make a sale, to inform or educate or to entertain. I believe my background in Consulting, along with all of my other training mentioned above, can help to identify and meet a clients' goals and objectives while the goal for me is offer excellent customer service in the process.

For instance because of my skills as a Consultant, I work well indepndently and take my cliient's concerns to heart. I will only accept a project if I feel I can serve the client effectively and where there is 100% complete customer satisfaction! Therefore, it is very important for me to know the customer is pleased with the results.

I value honesty, reliability, and excellent customer service. And then, once I agree to be involved in a project, I give 110% of my talent and time to it.

Therefore, when we speak of additional skills, I would have to add that beyond my actual "practical" training, I am a professional in theory as well. I enjoy meeting challenging situations and resolving any issues creatively, diligently and in the best interest of the client.
