Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I excel at being a middle-aged woman, however, I can and have had fun with: being a jovial Mrs. Doubtfire-type personality. I also have had fun with being a southern belle or a woman with a British accent. I do speak Spanish (not native tongue, though)and can do either straight Spanish or a woman with a Spanish accent (heavy or light). I am not opposed to playing a younger voice.

My Voice Experience

I have extensive experience in television and radio reporting, narration, theater, disk-jockeying and commercial production. I began using my voice talents at a young age- four. That's when I starred in my first play. I continued that media, taking many leads. Though I excelled in that field, my main role as a narrator for a play in my teens seemed to shape the course of my life.

In college, I excelled as a t-v weather reporter and radio announcer. From there, I was hired on immediately at a local radio station as a dj. The duties there included commercials and various production and on-air duties. Not long after, I began my career as a news reporter/anchor. I currently do part time work (reporting, commercials etc) at a leading local media group. On the side, just for fun, I also currently do some Video Announcement work.

My Training

I graduated with a BS from Evangel University in Springfield, MO. My majors were Communications Studies and Pre-law. I have won awards from the Utah Broadcasters Association. In my studies and experience I have learned a lot about public speaking and voice-over work. It is a talent that, thankfully, has come very naturally to me as well. In addition to all broadcast and speaking classes required for my degree, I have also participated in drama training throughout my life, including in college. I have also been asked on several ocasions to speak publically. Music (Singing and Piano) is another avenue through which I have gained much knowledge, experience and skill. It's been a life-long journey of learning that I thoroughly enjoy.

My Studio Equipment

I have a mixer, microphone, headphones (etc), Audio Audition 3, Audacity and a computer that can manage those things and more in a home studio.

Additional Skills

In addition to my experience in the field, I am an excellent writer and editor. Also, once I know the direction a person is going and the details of what they want, I can be creative and help develop a fine finished product.
