My Voice Experience

My experience began at a community college in south Florida. I was majoring in Broadcasting and edited and read the local entertainment news for two semesters at the campus radio station.

Following that, I majored in participated in radio dramas and scriptwriting for radio at University of Miami. Upon graduating I moved to San Francisco where I secured two agents and had the pleasure of doing a regional commercial for a local shopping center at Christmas. I was also the voice for an astrology telephone recording where consumers could dial in to hear their daily horoscopes.

As I moved further north to Arcata, CA, I participated in radio production of Beowulf for an assistant instructor at Humboldt State University. I also created a tape of children's stories that received local acclaim, in addition to a commercial for a local radio station.

I have been told I possess the ideal voice for the Tram Ride at Disney World in Orlando. My voice is easy to listen to and would work well in documentaries, books on tape, and voice-over work for animation in movies and television.

Editing and reading the news for a campus radio station, under the mentorship of the Broadcasting department head who had formerly been a radio DJ and announcer.

Voice-over workshop in San Francisco with Lucille Bliss - the voice of Smurfette. From this workshop, I created an audition tape of commercials and various radio spots.

Additional Skills

My 'other hat' related to this industry is my work for the past few years in film production. I have experience as an assistant accountant and as a travel coordinator and production secretary.

I have also worked in event planning and coordination, and conference management.

Additionally, I have extensive computer expertise, excellent proofreading and editing skills, and the ability to know when information is being presented clearly.

On a side note, I also have a background in the healing arts and have recorded (for personal training in a class) hypnotherapy tapes for meditation and relaxation. I have the ability to project a calm, soothing voice that assists others in releasing stress and feeling at peace.
