My Voice Experience
Much of my experience has come through my profession of 40 years in telecommunications with the "Bell System" (NJ Bell, AT&T, Lucent then Avaya). For NJ Bell, I recorded the time (i.e. 12:00 am) and weather for the "976" numbers; for AT&T, made an intercompany commercial; for Lucent and Avaya, recorded voicemail system messages and IVR / Conversant messages. Played a part in voice activated / response Virtual Operator system and contributed to the design and patent of the Green Feature in the Avaya Intuity Voicemail system that Merrill Lynch uses for their disclaimer message, which I have written and recorded for them. For the past 10 years, I have been a Project Coordinator who manages all of Merrill Lynch's campus and retail telecommunications globally with the Avaya / Merrill Lynch Team. Also I manage my Church's telecommunications. I have taken their Verizon voicemail system and created a "poor man's" simulation of IVR, then wrote and recorded all the messages on their Avaya Partner system. Now I am looking forward in a successful career in the voiceover industry.
