Voice Description
When recording educational materials I have been both the narrator and character. As narrator my voice is clear and articulate. As a character, I add more inflections, mannerisms and voice characteristics that would be appropriate to the character. For example, if I am a thirty year old woman in the 1800's I interprete her words according to the region and the circumstances. A voice may call for a European or Latin American accent, as well as an American English of sophistication or of very little sophistication.
When working in Spanish the same technique would apply. As narrator or as a "character", the important thing is to sound credible. Any voice that I record must be that of whom we are suppossed to be hearing.

My Voice Experience
I began recording voice overs at my first job after college at the PBS affiliate station KLRU-TV, Austin. I did some PSA's and also participated on camera during pledge drive. Then I began to translate PSA's for the health department and serving as voice talent as well. In 1994 I became producer and host of my own radio program once per week in our community radio station. I recorded and aired promotional spots for business supporters and my program. As I began to translate educational materials for Holt, Winston & Rhinhart, McGraw-Hill, and others, I was also contracted as voice talent.
Other voice over experience includes radio and television commercials and public service announcements.
My Training
Because of the nature of my college degree
(Bachelor-Radio-TV-Film Production), and the work that I seek, voice over work has always been an intricate part of what I do.
I also studied performing arts at Jersey City State College and I am trained and lisenced to operate radio broadcasting.
I have also a lengthy record working as a stage actress for over twenty years.
