Voice Description

For narrations, I can sound smooth and intelligible, while if you need it, I can imbue some emotion depending on the script.

I can get a little bit more creative with character pieces, displaying a wider and more vivid range of personalities and emotions, and providing certain natural imperfections (example, sighs, pauses, stressing different syllable, pitch change in relation to script content and projected emotions).

In the past, many people have commented that my reading voice could very easily be used in audio books, and educational documentaries.

Please keep in mind, that I am an amateur, both judging my own skills, and trying to incorporate the descriptions of others who know me.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

In addition to Plain-Jane American (the American news broadcasters are trained in), I can perform a passable if not a little bit cliche country western accent, and a indistinct British one, meaning that to a clientele foreign to the UK it could be identified, but within the UK they'd spot me as a fraud. I am also capable of rolling my 'r's.

The accents I am most comfortable with is Japanese, were I to receive a script in phonetic Japanese I think I would be able to pass as a native speaker. Of course, with that comes the ability to pull sentences in 'engrish'.

Impersonations are another thing entirely, so unless you want a knock-off of Marilyn's 'Happy Birthday Mr. President' or a not quite right rendition of The Cowardly Lion, you are out of luck. Still, I'd love to take a stab at something if you need a loose interpretation.

My Voice Experience

Although I have no professional experiences, I can tell you that from a young age I have had diction perhaps on par with 'excellent', that netted me a lead role in a half an hour to forty five minute play in the second grade. I like to think it was a little bit better than your average school production.

More recently, I was both interviewed, and an interviewer for a local radio project.

My Training

I am currently an eleventh grader, but recently have begun to take college classes, including on-going Japanese language learning (middle school on up, but mostly on my own), and with luck a voice over class which will be starting shortly.

My Studio Equipment

I do not currently have any high quality studio equipment, but should you be interested in hearing me I do have in my possession a decent 'hobby quality' microphone and audio software.

Additional Skills

I am NOT a terrible singer.
