Voice Description

New to the voiceover industry, I can best describe my voice capabilities based on cursory experience. I can speak down to a double-low C (two octaves below middle C), with a 2 1/2 octave range (up to about the G above middle C), not counting falsetto.

I have a very pleasant baritone announcer voice, able to speak in qualities warm, charming, witty, professional, menacing, and spooky. My voice is young adult mainly, perhaps ideal for younger generation-directed commercials.

Dialects and accents include Southern (e.g. stereotypical Appalachian/West Virginian), New England, northern Ohio/Michigan; moderate accent abilities in Australian, Eastern European, French, British, and Arabic.

Some popular character voices are mimicked, and some voices are unique. I draw from a decade and a half of television/movie/cartoon inundation, as well as characters that typically talk to me in my head...er...perhaps I've said too much.

Most common and best choices for my voice are the typical guy next door, the geek, the high school/college student, the voice over announcer, voice mail, audio books, and radio voices.

My Voice Experience

Six years of live dramatic and musical theatre experience, including community theatre roles in "Macbeth," "Hamlet," "Grease," "Jacques Brel..." and "Some Enchanted Evening."

Musical experience includes:
Four years (2000-2004) of University of Charleston Concert Choir and University Singers (as bass section leader) with featured solos;
Baritone and occasional bass singer for the Mountain State Quartet based in Nitro, WV.

Public speaking experience:
Two years behind-the-scenes announcer and planetarium guide for The ElectricSky Theater at the Avampato Discovery Museum in the Clay Center, Charleston, WV;
Two years speech and debate participant.
