Voice Description
Many people that my voice is very unique. My natural, neutral sound is strong, textural, and unpredictable. It sounds more young in the upper registers, and warm and rich in the lower registers while retaining a hint of nasal resonance that makes it unique. I am often suprised by the sounds that I can make, and feel I have not yet tapped my voice's full potential. I am a bit of a magpie, and can immitate sounds and voices well. The result is a wide range of vocal possibilities including child voices, cartoon characters, clinical straight narration, crazy women, earnest spokeswoman, any much more.
Dialects I am comfortable with are:
English, Irish, Scottish, Indian, Southern, Midwestern, New Yorker, Standard American

My Voice Experience
My experience as a voice over actor has grown from experimenting with different voice in the bathroom at age 4 to professional studio work at age 35. However, I still like to try out new voices in the shower. My most recent voice over jobs were training and promotional cd's for large corporations in which I got to play several characters including a little kid, a teenage boy, an old woman, a police detective, a straight narrator, and a sexy bombshell gangster's maule, to name a few. Most of my recording experience has been in character work, but I think my voice would lend quite well to books on tape, announcer, or personal interest stories.
My Training
MFA - Ohio University - Acting
Did my first demo in grad school, and got hooked. Started seeking out voice over work and further training immediately.
Trained with Laura Parotti in dialects, vocal resonance, breathing, standard American English, vocal warm-ups, and microphone technique.
Attended a workshop with Voices Unlimited in NYC. Studies there focussed on bringing out the natural, best voice, and the physical techniques that make the one's best sound possible. Also studied relaxation at the microphone, and how to keep text readings fresh.

Additional Skills
I am a trained actress with 31 years experience being a reservoir for the many voices that live inside me. My university training and professional experience as an actress has given me strong skills in interpreting text and a tuned instrument to play with.
The Sharks Insider is the first radio show that I have written produced and starred in. It features in-depth coverage of a women's professional football team. I have extensive knowledge of football any many other sports that may prove useful in recording sessions.
