My Voice Experience

I started acting at age 5 in small community theatre. I caught the acting bug and have never recovered, thank goodness! I am relatively new to voice-over work, but am having the time of my life. In my VO work, I have been a roller-coaster riding, museum-going mom promoting local tourism, as well as a professional saleswoman whose skin is really dry. I have done TV commercials and acted in plays ranging from classics like "Holiday" (Julia) to "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" (White Witch) to "Snow White" (Snow White). When you use me for a VO job, you get someone who takes direction well and can adapt to your needs and the desired tone of the project.

My Training

I received my college degree from Florida State University in Media Communications, with a Theatre minor. I studied acting at the Professional Actor's Studio in Atlanta.

I also recently completed a course in radio and television broadcasting at the Atlanta Broadcast Institute, which included an emphasis on Voice-Over in the curriculum and gave me the opportunity to learn from some of Atlanta's top voice talent.

My studio includes a PC, amp, microphone, Cool Edit Pro software for editing, ISDN, fax, and other office equipment.

Additional Skills

I bring relevant skills to the table. I am an excellent proofreader and a good writer. I have a great ear for copy and can make awkward passages sound more natural for performance.

Because I have also worked in the "professional" world, I understand how business works and the importance of being reliable and meeting deadlines. I have been a trainer for new employees, as well as a multi-county supervisor, so I am understand what it takes to get a point across, a valuable skill in VO.
