Good morning.
My name is Leander Beatty Jr., a St. Louis, Missouri resident, and one who is anxious, dying, begging, dreaming of an opportunity to work in the voiceover field.
Sir (Madam), right off the bat, I must tell you that I have no experience in this field at all. Many years ago (while living in San Diego, California), I attended a workshop run by Ms. Beverly Brehmer, well known for training voiceover talent on the west coast. However, I moved to St. Louis in 1997 (marriage), and my resume is blank (regarding voiceover).
I was wondering to whom I could speak about getting started in this field? As stated, I am more than willing to learn, I have no problem starting at the bottom, and I will do whatever is necessary to make myself available for any positions or training offered.
Are there any companies out ther willing to take a chance on a novice? Are there places I can learn this profession without having to give away a kidney to pay for it (smile please)? Seriously, I appreciate any assistance you can offer.
