Voice Description

I have a low, throaty voice that has been compared to those of Lauren Bacall, Jodie Foster, Demi Moore, and Rachel Ward. My work as a drama teacher and coach has allowed me to develop a great versatility; I am as comfortable performing in a high-pitched nasal character as I am reading the part of Blanche DuBois in a sultry, southern accent. I have a keen ear and am able to mimic others' voices easily; my low register even allows me to read the parts of men and boys. Sometimes, if I am speaking to someone on the phone in a decisive manner, I will be referred to as 'sir'! My natural speaking voice is often described as lulling, soft, low, smoky , or sexy. People I've worked with in theatre often say I should be on NPR!
