My Voice Experience
I was told many times that my voice wasn't "announcerish" enough when I first got into the radio industry; I had more requests for voice-over jobs from the production department and our television affiliate than I had airshifts for a while.
Throughout my radio career, I continued enjoying the voice acting parts. Lots of characters, lots of voice-overs, lots of endorsements.
My independent voice work includes tech support on-hold prompting, a 45 minute long, continuous-loop for the AM station welcoming visitors to Hilton Head Island, presentation and video accompaniment, and good old voice-overs.
My Training
On air radio career of 24 years with voice work throughout, lots of voice-over seminars.
I also had a ten-year relationship with a man who was ultra-sensitive to tone of voice and I managed to get my points accross to him without fighting all the time! Or at least without him knowing we were fighting.
My Studio Equipment
Microphone - Rode NT1-A
Until I get the kinks out of my studio (will update when done), I have access to Adobe Audition.
Additional Skills
I follow direction well. One of the frustrations I have faced in the past regarding voice projects is being limited to one or two reads. There are so many ways to say the simplest of things! It is sometimes difficult for a client to state what they are wanting to hear; they know it when they hear it. I am enthusiastic about staying with a project until they hear it!
