My Voice Experience

My classmates in Catholic school told me I should be a voice actress because it was "soothing" when I recited prayers at the beginning of class, and friends tell me the same thing during long phone calls.

In a previous job, it often fell to me to leave haranguing messages for overdue clients because, according to a coworker, "you could tell me you were takin' my HOUSE in that voice, and I'd say okay!"

I often do unintentional impressions of people when I quote them, only to be told, "Your [Matt] impression is right on!"

That said, I've never held a job as a voice actress and I'd like the opportunity to add some real experience to this section.

My Training

I took singing lessons for 6 years, which probably had a greater effect on my speaking voice than I realize.

I've performed with sketch and improv comedy troupes for the past 5 years, and I performed in several plays and musicals a year from the time I was 11 until I was 20. As a result, I'm strong with cold readings, subtle character voices, and extremely un-subtle character voices.
