Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Southern drawl / southern bell, which was an accent i strove to hide after moving from Virginia to New York when I was a kid. I have also been known to dive into Brittish or Scottish accents randomly in conversation.
My Voice Experience
Several years ago, a coworker of mine told me, "I could listen to you talk for hours". I thanked him for the compliment, but didn't think much of it at the time. Over the years, I've been told repeatedly that I have a nice or soothing voice, and that I don't necessarily sound like I'm from anywhere in particular. These qualities earned me my first voice over job, which was a re-vamp of the phone greetings and hold messages for Decorative Product Source. About a year later, I was asked to do the same for a company called County Draperies.
My Training
I took acting and improv classes in college, which involved performance finals for a live audience at the end of the class. I have also acted in and directed onstage productions not related to the class experience. In addition, I have an extensive background working with and for people over the phone.
