My Voice Experience

In my childhood, I practiced being a disc jockey with tape recorders and imaginary call letters and audiences. In presentations to classes, groups, and larger audiences, I have been comfortable both speaking to and backing up the presenters. Writing the scripts is very enjoyable and presenting them is good, also. My time with KCMC Radio, in my college years, was informative and fulfilling.

I did not pursue the voiceover avenue due to other life pursuits. I still enjoy this arena and have continually been told recently that my voice is entertaining and sounds professional. I have presented themed scripts for presentations in my company, and have recorded daily messages for distributors to hear for ten years (1981-91) and recently. I host a Tuesday morning teleconference with distributors for my company, and have been complimented on the way I keep the conference call moving and entertaining.

My Training

B.A. Degree in Economics, with concentration in Accounting from Claremont McKenna College, Claremont, CA, in 1977.

Worked at KCMC-Radio, a college radio station, for which I was the assistant manager, the advertising salesman, and an on-air personality for 8-16 hours a week, in 1974-75.

Qualified for my FCC license in 1975, although I did not renew it in 1980.

I use my computer laptop and microphones.

I have access to a full-scale studio in Greensboro.
