Voice Description
In the VO group I attend my voice has been described as warm, believable, and reassuring. I have a natural delivery style and the ability to infuse copy with vocal variety. People for whom I have read have expressed an appreciation for the emotional depth and clarity of meaning I bring to the material. I perform especially well with copy that "tells a story." In reading children's stories I draw on my background in theater to create memorable characters. I have a number of silly, energetic voices for animation projects as well as an authentic Texas drawl for character work.

My Voice Experience
My experience with voice over began as a child when I discovered the beauty of the English language. Fascinated with the sound of words I read aloud to myself, incurring the wrath of my parents for reading under the covers at night. In elementary school I was tapped frequently to be the narrator for programs and moved into theater work in high school and college. Throughout my life I have taken every opportunity to read aloud and have been called upon often to assist with narration and presentations in various venues in front of audiences of 50 to 200.
My Training
I graduated in 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in music (vocal performance) and a minor in theater. I have participated since then in regional theatre. Currently, I attend a weekly voice over group in the Los Angles area.
My Studio Equipment
Presently I have Audacity digital audio editor on my PC, as well as Sonar LE, a BOSS Digital 12 track recording system and Garage Band on a Mac laptop. I use a Samson multi-pattern USB Studio Condenser mic but I am in the market for a Sennheiser 431 mic. I create rehearsal CDs for the individuals I have directed in musical activities.
Additional Skills
I have a great deal of experience directing groups of approximately 50 in musical activities. In the Spring of 2009 I directed an Easter passion play in two acts with 37 musical numbers, a cast of 64 youth and adults, and a 24 member chorus. I am organized, patient and cheerful. I have the ability to work well with others, especially children. I am easy-going, prompt and trust-worthy. These traits and abilities serve me well in voice over production.
