My Voice Experience
Working as part-time play-by-play announcer/reporter for WJBC-AM Bloomington, have done so for 6 1/2 of last 8 years... spent 1 1/2 years working play-by-play at WMNW-FM Atlanta, IL. Also worked 3 years at WGFA-FM Watseka, IL as lead play-by-play announcer and part-time fill-in host. Did internship with Todd Beasley at WKKD-AM/FM in Aurora, IL as production intern. Wrote and produced commercials, also voiced some spec spots for perspective clients.
My Training
Completed courses at Illinois Center For Broadcasting in March 1997, earned Certificate of Completion. Currently a student at University of Phoenix, studying for AA in Communications.
My Studio Equipment
Equipement I possess: Olympus WS-311M Digital Voice Recorder which I use when on-site for interviews or reactions from players/coaches or to record game action off-air for later use. PC Laptop with Audacity editing software.
Equipment I can access: Sony MD Recorders, full studios with MP3 recording capabilities and various radio production boards for sound processing. Adobe Audition/Cool Edit available for editing or mix down of audio tracks.
Additional Skills
While working as Concourse Security Supervisor in 1991-92, had access to O'Hare Airport-Terminal 1 paging system to make announcements for customers to return for lost articles. Have been the public address announcer for the McLean County Basketball Tournament here in Bloomington, IL for the past 9 years.
