My voice is in a slightly higher register. I can make it very sharp and piercing the higher in pitch I go. Going closer to the microphone, I have a very calm, soft, intimate voice.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I'm an elementary school librarian, and I read aloud to kids for a living. Making a book come to life is what I'm best at, complete with various character voices and ad lib sound effects. I grew up in the South and can do some mean southern accents. I'm comfortable with British and can easily step over into Irish. Pretty good at adapting to a general "yankee" accent. On its own, my voice is pretty neutral.

I've done audio versions of books I've written (non-fiction) and have received compliments for my expression and ability to engage the listener with both storytelling and emphasis on concepts.

My Training

No training in voice overs, but I am a trained singer. I also have a lot of experience with public speaking through the church and through my career as an educator. Public speaking is one of my best skills.

My Studio Equipment

I record my own music, and I use Logic Studio software on my Macbook. I own several microphones (including two by Blue) and a Focusrite Voicemaster Pro unit for processing vocals.
