Voice Description

My voice is a very important way that I express myself. I can do a range of emotions, and sounds. My voice can be deeper than most females or as light as one. I have the ability to speak warmly and full heartedly or upbeat for fun characters. At times I can sound offbeat and the pitch in my voice can vary to bring out a sense of clumsiness. I am only capable of speaking in English. However, I can do different variations of a British accent, and if shown could imitate more.

My Voice Experience

I have always loved acting. I was in the drama club in my highschool. We were a small school and could not afford really hightech equipment, so if one wanted to be heard all of the way to the back of the auditorium the voice was considered more of a muscle. The louder the voice, the more parts you could win. My voice was deeper, so it carried farther for most girls, and that was how I got the part as the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz. I constantly imitated the voice, even in practice, and made the voice so close to the original movie that the students told me that I was making them look bad for a lack of trying. My experience mainly comes from plays.

My Training

I make my own music, because I play the guitar. I have taken speech classes in college, and voice projection is a key element to a successful speech. I was in a couple of bands in my high school years and both broke up in a matter of weeks, due to conflict of interests. The performing arts was always a field that I was interested in, but I was always told that I could never make a living, so the experience that I have is limited and I found this to be an opportunity to get that experience.

Additional Skills

I am an artist and I am studying to be an animator in college. I go to school in Oklahoma and all I can think of is how I am going to get to do what I want with my life while staying within the tri-state area. I draw and paint. I play the guitar and the piano. However, I make my own music and I cannot read notes. Most people don't know that I can't when I tell them, and that is all I need to make me feel accomplished.
