Voice Description
My voice is warm loaded with color. I'm a singer/songwriter and my vocal range is extremely flexible. I can be deep and rich or light and airy. I have a very unique character voice that can be described as sounding like Iceland's singer "Bjork" very faerie like and bubbly, strong & playful.
The timbre of my voice has been described as sultry sweet with dreamy grit. My professional voice that I use for Drug company ads is clear and calming, convincing yet compassionate.
I've done ads in Irish, Spanish and British accents effortlessly. My voices are unique original. I am a professional vocal teacher and teach for a theatrical company. I'm very witty and can improvise with brilliant spontaneity for animals and creatures. My personality is jovial and I get along great with others. I'm a creative writer and also write commercials and scripts along with jingles. I'm a live performer and have "no" performance anxiety. I thrive on it. I've done modeling and I love an audience. My schedule is flexible and I am willing to travel.
My website is being updated however it will be running by October 15th and will include an MP3 version of both my voice and musical demo. Ive written all the commercials and music on it myself. I accompany myself on the acoustic guitar.

My Voice Experience
I've been a chatter box all my life.
As a kid my nickname was "Magpie" after the wistful chirpy bird. I've become more refined since then, I swear! I started performing on my first birthday. You see, that day was the pivotal moment. It wasn't good enough for me to smoosh my fingers in my birthday cake NO, I had to dump it over my head and make a skeptical of myself leaving the crowd in hysterics! It was then that I forever became the center of attention. I was spontaneous and most of the time was just trying to be myself however, my sister thought I was trying to be a showoff! Well Ive been using it to my advantage ever since. Through school I would audition for plays and end up landing the lead part. I took classical voice lessons from age 12-19 and was a canter for my church singing on the alter for weddings, funerals and masses. This was good exposure and paid gigs. At night I would take to the stage at open mics and I sang for a classic Rock band. At 19 I won a scholarship pageant. Yup, there I was on stage in a bathing suit and high heels YIKES! I took the Miss Greater Watertown Title and the Talent award that evening and that fall attended The Hartt School of music for Vocal performance. On Campus I was the Clown, Impersonating professors and their catatonic like speeches and in bed by 9. I was a good student. I wandered off to SUNY New Paltz to finish my degree in Music Therapy and Jazz Vocal Performance. I was in numerous bands and doing stand up comedy in between songs, the spot light was never too big, I loved sharing the stage and played off others reactions. From there I came back to CT and worked with people living with Acquired Brain Injuries. We ALL have em' but these folks at least had a since of humor about them. I was teaching Voice at The Warner Theatre Company in Torrington CT and loving it more & more. I was far from your normal teacher. I was funky, young and encouraged my students to be playful and unique. I learn so much from them and praise them with gratitude. Its a healthy environment. Finally after a few years went by I started to feel that I had so much more to give. I wanted to utilize my voice full time so I quit my full time job and kept the voice students. I started to record my music professionally and finally got a good break. In previous years I had done some recording with a guy named Matt Berky from Massive Productions here in CT. He called me and told me that he was working on the music for a Documentary film and it needed a title song to run over the credits. I watched the film and took some notes and within the second glance of the film pretty much had the song written. The song is called "Dreamers & Warriors". I met with the producer/director Harvey Hubble of Captured Time Productions and he loved it! The movie has won 3 Emmy Awards and my foot was through the door.
My musical partner Mark Visconti has his Master degree in music for film from SUNY Purchase N.Y and has written scores for film and dance companies. Were a powerful duo and have worked together for 8 yrs on various projects. I got another call from Matt in August of 2005 and he had another job for me. This time CIGNA Insurance Company was having their annual Gold Forum and this years anthem was recording artist Pinks song called "I'm Coming up". Cigna had changed some of the words and wanted me to sing the new version, so I did. They were pleased and for less than an hours work I got a nice check in the mail. While at the studio Matt talked to me about doing a voice over demo. So I did. My most recent audition was for Hasbro Games for a game called Green Pawn. They needed me to sound Irish which was no problem, I love accents! I researched at my local library and found a book narrated with an Irish accent and made sure my pronunciations were correct and auditioned with confidence. I once read a saying that said, Failure to prepare is preparing to fail. Thats a good one to live by. Ive been speaking out all my life, singing through its ups & downs so when you ask about experience, then Ill answer, I have 29 years in it
My Training
My Life is my education. To be alive and to be a better listener is the foundation of my training. My Experience is my training. I do have a degree in Music Therapy. Most people will ask, Whats Music Therapy? My answer is, "Well, what does music do for you". You see, Music is everywhere. It's in the tones we hear babbling in the brook, its the oscillation or rattling of the leaves in the trees. It's Miles Davis's Trumpet having a conversation with an upright bass. It's the sound of you're loved ones voice, a voice like no others in the world that can leave you with the most comforting feeling in your chest. Music is sound and its playground is your ear drum that sends messages like lightning to every nerve in your body. I practice doing Voice over's everyday, media is my workshop. Every 6 min. or less on every radio, TV or internet broadcasting station there is an advertisement for you to listen too, reflect on, learn from and mimic. I attend listening seminars at least 3 hours everyday driving to and from work or meetings and leisure time on the coach in the privacy of my own home. As I mentioned under my Experience column, I am a recording/performing artist. I am my own business manager so I make the phone calls and the follow through connections, I am a communicator, a sales person and I am accountable for clarity, so that I am understood. I am liable for dependability so that people can relate and rely on me. When they hear my voice they remember who I am, why I'm calling and what my objective is. I am a writer and subject matter needs to be pure, simple and to the point. People remember things better if they can relate to it. Maybe it has a hook, or if it has a ring to it like a jiggle you can't get out of your head.
