Voice Description

Let's start with my standard non-accented American English, seasoned as needed with a British accent. Need a southern belle, a French spy, or a Russian waitress? I can approximate their accents, too.

I feel that, for voice acting (as opposed to simple voiceover reads), you need to be really believable, so I like to make the characters rich and full no matter what the assignment...

... if the script calls for disaffected youth, you'll hear it in my jaded, bored tones. If you want to draw in your professional employees, I'll deliver a warm, well-modulated, but serious read that'll make them pay attention... and if it's an enthusiastic product sell, I'll be as peppy as a cheerleader on Pixy Stix.

Need the speech of a princess or duchess? I'll pull out the cultured diction and regal tones. If I'm fighting in a game environment, you'll believe that I really am swinging that sword as hard as I can, no matter if I'm on the side of good or evil... or, if it's simply a friendly conversation you're after, I can deliver a performance that will sound remarkably unscripted.

My Voice Experience

- Began with summer jobs as a pop radio DJ, working as an on-air personality and cutting regional commercials.

- Bored with the regimented world of "regular" radio, I graduated to radio theatre, in which I spent the next two summers playing various voice characters from Beauty and the Beast's Belle to The Abyss' scientist Lindsey. Also began doing more music-related VO work, such as concert promotions and musician interviews.

- Was next recruited by Chicago's Screaming Bunny Productions, and worked with them for 3 years, doing commercials for a wide range of clients, including Pizza Hut, Mailboxes Etc., Honda, AlphaPage, EB Games, Old Navy, Hot Topic, and The Gap.

- For ongoing training, I try to pop in for workshops whenever I'm in NYC or L.A., just to refresh my skills and learn a few new things.

- Currently, I'm mostly pursuing documentary and television voiceover, film work, and character voices for animated films and videogames - but I also enjoy promo reads and commercials. It's all as challenging and fun as you make it!

- Recent voiceover projects have been the usual range of commercial work, plus a role as a headstrong female fighter pilot in the new Battlestar Galactica videogame (downloadable at www.game-warden.com/bsg - listen for my character, Nova!)

Additional Skills

I'm also a musician and film actress, and have done some stage work. I'm currently recording a full-length CD of my own indie-pop songs, and was just featured as a supporting character in the independent film Life Unexamined.

Other film contributions have included various stints working as an extra, and eating far too many chocolate biscuits off of the craft services table (burp.)
