My Voice Experience
In my demo you will hear that, of course, I can do straight promotion/announcement (straightforward Archer Farms Foods, cute Sharpie, sexy Brilliant Brunette segments). I really excel at authentic, connecting characters - not silly voices so much, but people you know - a young mom enrapt by her baby, or a harried woman trying to balance her checkbook, for example.
My first check for VO was a "testimonial" about OK Soda, a Coca Cola product that never quite made it. In a "real person" voice/persona, I improvised stories about how OK Soda had been...ok for me.
I made up a story about how I was painting my room, my cat spilled the paint, along with the soda I was drinking, and the soda had made the paint easier to clean up. They loved it!
But...maybe a soda with properties like that isn't something that someone would actually DRINK...I got my first AFTRA VO check, though!
A project I did for love... playing the Firefly for a sweet, award winning, stop motion animation piece, "Insect Poetry", directed by Marilyn Zornado.
